Why should you include learning opportunities in your child’s daily routines? Because it maximizes your child’s learning potential! So, how do you include learning opportunities in your routines?

  1. Think about your daily routines. Make a list of 3 daily routines. Routines can include brushing their teeth, changing their clothes or diaper, doing the laundry, etc.

  2. Identify which routines provide the most opportunities for learning.

  3. Pinpoint the skills you can target in those routines. Skills that you can target include object permanence, identifying body parts, labeling clothes items, dressing independently, etc.

  4. Think about what activities you can use to achieve that skill. Activities: peek-a-boo, singing a song, showing a book, etc.

  5. Engage with your child in the activity to motivate them to enjoy the learning opportunity.
